About: Bluenose

Scale model of a schooner from the year 1929. 1:65 scale Wooden hull 26.38″H 29.92″L 5.51″W

The schooner Bluenose has a very special place in the history of navigation and yachting. Built to fish off the Newfoundland coast, the ship soon turned out to be such a fast sailer that she won all the great classical regattas along the USA’s Eastern coast. She was built in Nova Scotia in 1921, and shipwrecked near Haiti in 1946. A true copy – Bluenose II – was launched in 1964.

Paints used on this model boat kit are: BB#1, BB#2, BB#5, BB#11, BB#12, BB#14, BB#16, BB#17, BB#36, + BB#40 thinner/cleaner.

(Please note our 600 Bluenose II is a smaller 1 : 100 scale version as is an easier and less costly replica of this famous vessel.)
